The invention of the gargoyle is credited to St Romanus. According to legend he saved the city of Antioch by fighting off a monster called Goji, a creature so ugly it scared people to death. The church then adopted these monsters as protectors and began building them into their churches. They can now be found on buildings – and not just churches – all over the world.
Now, thanks to our Gargoyle Lantern Statue you can have your very own gargoyle to light the way to your door while he protects the house at the same time.
Our Gargoyle Lantern Statue stands 13″ x 9″ x 16¾” high and in his hand he holds a lantern which contains a small light which can be turned on and off as you desire (it needs 2 AA batteries to function.) He is crafted from metal, resin and glass and is designed to be hardy enough to stand guard at your door for years to come.
