Record Trucker Shortage Continues to Complicate Supply Chain

According to the American Trucking Associations, the U.S. trucker shortage — the lack of drivers needed to move goods through the supply chain — has climbed to roughly 80,000 this year, up from 61,500 last year. Many of the issues that truckers face are compensation-related. According to them, due to a shortage of warehouse workers and drivers, Amazon.com’s capacity to make next-day delivery is being hindered in many parts of the United States. “On the one-day-promise front, we have unfinished business.
