The big retailers have Black Friday and the cyber retail heavy hitters have Cyber Monday but for the third year running small businesses have the chance to kick off the holiday shopping season by actively participating in Small Business Saturday.
Small Business Saturday is an American Express organized event that puts the spotlight on local small businesses nationwide. This year it is being held on November 24th, 2012 and given the number of successes that have been reported over the last two years by small businesses in every niche – but most especially retailers and service businesses – there is really no excuse for a small business not to participate, especially since it is all free.
Small business owners who have not signed up yet can do so here and they will then have access to a lot of free tools that will allow them to participate in Small Business Saturday to the fullest. There are free promotional materials for business websites and printables for physical locations as well as lots of great tips about how to create offers – and a social buzz – that will help your business get the most out of the day.
